Little Lincoln Early Kindergarten serves to prepare students for the course work found in Little Lincoln Kindergarten. In Early Kindergarten, students will be introduced to standards-based curriculum that includes daily lessons in reading, writing, and math, as well as routine exposure each week to social studies, science, and wellness. The curriculum is designed to cover 36 weeks of instruction, but it can be completed at each student's own pace.
Among the many topics students will explore are:
Little Lincoln combines online and offline components. Online each day, students are introduced to Miss Palomine, their teacher. Miss Palomine teaches important lessons in two engaging teacher videos each day, reads one audio story per week, and is featured in an additional weekly wellness video with her sidekick, Socrates the Squirrel. Students are able to play a variety of online mini-games for extra practice and reinforcement and have access to a wide variety of songs that are tied to the daily learning objectives. They are also given the opportunity to create an avatar online and participate in the World of Midlandia.
In addition to the information provided online, students receive six boxes of materials to use through-out the school year. These include: one box of printed materials per nine-week season, one box of multiple sets of flashcards, a weather-related flip book titled Weather Socrates, and Little Lincoln Nursery Rhyme Collections, to be used during the daily Getting Started Activities, along with one box of supplies. The supply box includes art supplies, handwriting paper, a dry erase board and markers, a magnetic calendar, math manipulatives, and much more!
