This course will cover the five themes of geography in the United States, and students will  read and interpret maps, globes, pictographs, bar graphs, line graphs, and tables. Students will investigate factors that contributed to the development of cities and industries in certain areas and will trace the evolution of U.S. water systems. They will also identify the political systems of the United States including branches of government and differences between national, state, and local governments. They will analyze the geographic, political, economic, and social structure of each region of the U.S. and examine history beginning with the Native Americans and continuing to the present day.

Like all fourth grade courses, Social Studies includes online lessons complete with engaging teacher videos, mini-games for practice and reinforcement, links to great resources, fun online activities, and hands-on activities that are completed with the printed activities books and a variety of supplies (included as an optional purchase).
